Bouncy Castle Hire: Frequently Asked Questions

Every castle we send out is covered by public liability insurance to a value of £5 million. That covers claims arising from the equipment itself or from how we deliver and set it up. Our public liability insurance covers faults in the equipment or in how we deliver and set it up. Supervision of the children using the castle, and following the safety rules such as not overloading it, stays with the adult in charge on the day. That split is standard across the industry, and any operator you ask should give you a straight answer on both halves of it.

A standard castle needs roughly 15ft by 16ft of clear, flat space once you allow for side clearance and blower access. A castle with a slide needs closer to 15ft by 22ft. Our garden size guide has the full table and an access checklist for gates and power.

No, an adult from your party needs to supervise it the whole time it is inflated, the same as with every operator. It should never be left running unwatched, even briefly. Guidance on safe numbers per castle size is on our bouncy castle safety page.

Your named contact confirms an agreed delivery window with you the day before your booking, so you know roughly when to expect us rather than waiting in all morning. Someone over 18 needs to be present for delivery and collection to sign the castle in and out.

A gate or side return of at least 80cm, a reasonably flat path from there to where the castle will sit, and a power socket within 30m. We bring the extension leads. Full detail is in the access checklist on our garden size guide.

Yes, every castle is cleaned and checked before it goes out again. That check also covers the anchor points and the blower, which is part of the same process as our PIPA inspection routine, covered on our bouncy castle safety page.

The safe number of users at once depends on the castle's size, and gets stated on each unit's booking page. As a general rule, mixing very young children with much older or heavier ones on the same castle at the same time is what causes most bounce-related bumps, so we would rather you split age groups into shorter turns than run everyone together.

Some units are rated for adult use and some are not. Say so when you enquire if you want an adult-capable castle, for example for an 18th or a family event where the grown-ups want a go, and we will point you to a unit rated for it rather than guessing on the day.
